Lyrics [ ] Snow White: Have a holly, jolly Christmas It's the best time of the year I don't know if there'll be snow but we'll have such good cheer Have a holly, jolly Christmas And when you walk down the street Say "Hello" to friends you know and everyone you meet Oh ho the mistletoe hung where you can see And if you meet my Prince, kiss him once for me Have a holly, jolly Christmas and in case you didn't hear Oh by golly have a holly, jolly Christmas this year Oh, now let's see how jolly you can be Doc, shall we start with you?

Folk singer and actor Burl Ives actually recorded "A Holly Jolly Christmas" twice, but even though you heard it first when he sang it in the classic Rankin-Bass TV special, "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer," and you can't help but think of that glorious stop-motion animation when you hear the song, it's actually the second version Ives recorded, for his Christmas album, that you're probably more used to hearing.

It's the version that is so often played on holiday radio that it's actually climbed the Billboard charts several times over the years. The acoustic guitar solos, slightly slower tempo and greater emphasis on Ives' distinctive vocal set it apart. The song is so associated with Ives that it's hard to believe he didn't write it and wasn't the first to record it. The song was written by Johnny Marks in , and first appeared on the Quinto Sisters' album of the same title.
